What Is a Lilac Bicolor British Shorthair?

The lilac and white British Shorthair is one of the rarest and most refined bicolor combinations in the breed. It combines the dove-gray, pink-toned lilac coat — already rare on its own — with bright white markings typically on the chest, paws, and parts of the face. The result is an extraordinarily delicate cat: pale, soft, and elegant in a way that more common color combinations simply cannot match.

Producing a lilac bicolor British Shorthair requires the cat to carry the chocolate gene, the dilution gene, and the white spotting gene — a specific genetic combination that makes this color genuinely uncommon even among breeders who specialize in rare British Shorthair colors.
