What Is a Chocolate Bicolor British Shorthair?

The Chocolate Bicolor British Shorthair combines a rich, warm dark-brown coat with bright white markings — a bicolor combination that is rare for two separate reasons. First, chocolate itself is a recessive color that requires both parents to carry the chocolate gene. Second, the white spotting gene must also be present. The result is a color combination that requires specific, intentional breeding to produce — and one that stands out immediately for its warmth and depth.

The contrast of deep warm chocolate against bright white is bolder and warmer than the blue and white combination, and gives the chocolate Bicolor British Shorthair a distinctive, almost luxurious appearance. With copper eyes, the overall look is entirely coherent — warm tones from coat to eye, set off by crisp white.
