What Is a Cream British Shorthair?

The cream British Shorthair is the diluted form of red — a pale, warm, almost golden-white coat that is one of the softest and most elegant colors in the breed. A quality cream coat should be even throughout with no tabby markings, no shading, and no reddish cast. The eyes are deep copper or gold, creating a warm, harmonious overall look that is quieter and more subtle than the bold contrast of blue or black British Shorthairs.

Producing a genuinely clean, mark-free cream British Shorthair is more difficult than it appears. Cream is prone to ghost tabby markings — faint striping — especially in kittens, and ensuring the adult coat settles into a true, even cream requires careful breeding selection. We breed cream in both British Shorthair and British Longhair varieties — a cream British Longhair, with its flowing pale coat, is a genuinely beautiful and uncommon cat.

Every cream kitten receives a full veterinary health exam, FVRCP and FELV/FIV vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and a health guarantee before going to their new family.
