What Is a Blue Bicolor British Shorthair?

The blue Bicolor British Shorthair is the most popular bicolor combination in the breed. It takes the classic blue-gray coat — the breed's foundation color — and adds bright white markings, most typically on the chest, face blaze, and paws. The contrast between the dense blue-gray and the crisp white is bold and clean, and the British Shorthair's round face and chunky build makes the pattern especially striking.

Blue Bicolor British Shorthairs are sometimes described as having a "tuxedo" or "magpie" appearance depending on the distribution of white. Each cat's pattern is individual — the ratio of blue to white and the exact placement of the white markings vary from kitten to kitten within the same litter.
